HelLO, we love bees!
Restoration Honey Bee Company, formerly known as the Bayanihan Honey Bee Company, is a family business focusing on the sales of locally-raised queen bees, starter colonies, beeswax candles, and of course, honey! Owned and operated by husband-wife duo of John and Elizabeth Espadero (with outstanding assistance from their four junior beekeeping children), our apiary currently spans several yards and over 100 colonies. The Espaderos strongly believe that beekeepers hold an important responsibility of being stewards to both pollinators and to our local ecosystems.
Why Restoration?
To us, the integration of work and creativity - the opportunity to spend time on something that is challenging and rewarding - is something integral to what it means to be human. Work - whether for pay or in the service of others in love, like in a family - is profoundly restorative. On a spiritual level, we believe that work done in love is restorative too. We watch the work of our bees - the pollination that they provide to our garden and the surrounding countryside - and again, we see restoration taking place. This work we have embarked on as a family has been likewise restorative.
